2M1Y is not referring to making 2 millions in 1 year, though that would be a pleasant goal. That might give me more freedom and financial means to travel. This term refers to a crazy goal I set for myself, which is to go up 2 mountains in 1 year, that is every year.
Why 2 mountains, some might ask? Well, I have no other better reason than to admit that I am a mountain lover. There are so many mountains in the world but we have too few opportunities or time to visit them. So setting a goal or a quota would help. To me, 2 mountains in 1 year isn't too aggressive a target knowing that there are so many peaks in Asia. This goal is not limited to the mountains 3000 meters and above, but any mountain that is worth visiting.
Let's face it. I don't really have the body structure built for a mountaineer. I just enjoy trekking. I can walk for countless of hours with little rest. Don't ask me why but I just believe we are given a pair of legs for something. Walking gives me serenity, and is a very good therapeutic process. I don't usually carry a cellphone when I walk, so I can enjoy some moments with myself. Just a iPod Shuffle and a pair of comfortable walking shoes, I'm off!
This blog is dedicated to feature the photos of the journey, a mean of a summary for myself and to share with friends and family. This year, I am grateful that I have accomplished the goal. I went up Mount Kinabalu the second time in April, and Huangshan (Mount Yellow - literally translated) of China in June. Next year, the plan in place is Mount Fuji and Nepal again, but going to a different trek -- Everest Base Camp. I hope the goal will happen as planned.
Hope you will enjoy the photos in this blog, and do drop a note if you see something that resonates in you!
Cheers!
